What RETIREMENT Income Means For You

What RETIREMENT Income Means For You

Understanding the potential behind your finances isn’t as simple as reading a book or attending a seminar. Because everyone has a different relationship to risk and investments, every path to retirement will look different based on the individual’s preferences. For instance, some people are happy to undertake the responsibilities of long-term rental real estate while others would prefer to diversify in the stock market. You likely have questions about how to manage your bottom line by the time you’re ready to punch out for the final time and enjoy the good life, and we are here to help.

Every person has different expectations when it comes to how they want their retirement to look. Some want to use the time to travel around the world, while others would prefer nothing more than a simple cabin in the woods. Some might even want to pursue a new business based on their passions rather than their bank account. Bob Hoger at Fundamental Wealth Solutions understands that what you save for depends on whos in your life and what youve always wanted in your Golden Years. It’s why he tailors his strategies to manage your bottom linenot his. We will look for every available opportunity to build your savings, so you can plan for the future. If youre edging into the risky realm, we show you how to manage that risk. If youre playing it too close to the vest, we can show you how to branch out without pushing you out of your comfort zone.

Balancing the future starts with income planning. At its core, we believe that there are only three basic questions:

1. How can we help you save every month?

2. What kind of risk can you afford to introduce to your savings?

3. How will you enjoy all your hard-earned money by the time you’re ready to?

Wealth Management

Wealth management is the art of both helping to conserve your resources and maximizing them whenever possible. How you take care of your assets will have a lot to do with how they take care of you. The right wealth management team will look at all of your holdings and show you how to adjust your portfolio. Every decision is designed to help you plan for the future – whatever it happens to bring.

Retirement Income Planning

“How much do I need to retire?” can often seem like a vague question to many people. After all, doesn’t it ultimately depend on everything from your health to your income to your lifestyle? However, regardless of how many variables there may be to the equation, there is a way to calculate the answer once you understand the parameters and possibilities that lie within your financial holdings. The right financial advisor can help streamline your income, so it aligns with your broader retirement goals.

Long-Term Care

With medical miracles and new innovative prescription drugs, our life expectancies continue to increase, resulting in a greater need for care along the way. Whether it be Home Health Care, Assisted Living, or a Nursing Home Facility, the thought of buying an insurance policy is not only unappealing, but may be an antiquated approach to covering this expense. It doesn’t matter if you live in Novi, MI or clear across the country, let Fundamental Wealth Solutions show you a better way to help mitigate this potential risk.

College Planning

There’s been a lot of talk about what it means to plan for college, and what the best way is to go about it. For parents who want to truly prepare, they need to keep in mind not just the expenses of college today, but the impact those expenses will have on your current financial obligations and future goals. As the costs of higher education rise, it helps to have the right financial advisor who can guide you through a complex path of decisions.

If you are in the planning stages for college, you may find our sister company, Michigan College Funding, LLC, very helpful. You can visit the website here for more information.

Optimizing Social Security

Most people won’t be surprised to hear that their Social Security benefits are unlikely to fund their retirement plans. Even the most modest lifestyles will likely still need more than what the government has to offer. Despite this reality, though, there are ways to make Social Security work for you. A Social Security estimator can certainly give you an idea of how much you’ll receive every month, but you’re better off talking to a financial advisor who will give you more information than the average Social Security benefit.

When you pay into a system all your life, it only makes sense that you’ll be able to reap some rewards from all the sacrifice. Fundamental Wealth Solutions understands this program on a deeper level. Let us help you optimize your Social Security benefits, so you don’t miss out on what’s owed to you.

Tax Management

Efficient tax planning is a financial strategy that focuses on the tax treatment of your portfolio. It will look at how your retirement accounts are fluctuating from year to year, how your Social Security income will be taxed, and whether you have to factor in capital gains to your estimate. While we recommend you consult a tax professional, tax management should always start with a financial advisor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you consider yourself a financial planner, or a financial advisor?

Certainly, a financial planner. Every financial planner is also a type of financial advisor, but every financial advisor does not necessarily focus on financial planning. A financial planner is a professional who helps individuals create a plan to meet long-term financial goals. Most individuals who need money help will enlist a financial planner, which can be a more specific type of financial advisor.

Who is your ideal client?

Our ideal client is someone who is interested in creating a plan that can lead to a happy and successful retirement. We spend most of our lives earning and saving money. The last phase of money, called the distribution phase, is when we put all of that hard earned savings back into our pocket. This is our primary focus. Helping to teach our clients how to create a predictable and sustainable income stream so that one day, they can leave the workforce.

How long have you been in the financial services industry?

No one wants to be the surgeons first patient. I have over 3 decades of experience in the financial services industry, and over 23 years as a registered representative.

Why did you become a planner?

I learned at a very early age that although many people may develop skills and talents that allow them to make a lot of money in their lifetime, managing money and planning for their financial future is no easy task and requires an entirely different skill set. I love what I chose to do for a living and enjoy the everyday challenges that I help my clients face.

Is it really worth it to work with a financial planner or should I just do it on my own?

If getting a financial planner would allow you to sleep better at night, or help reduce money stress, then it is definitely worth it.
